Happy Easter!

Okay I know I am a little early but I wanted to get this up because I have a busy weekend and want to make sure I don't forget. Here are the Easter manicures that I did. I don't know what it is but I just wasn't 100% satisfied with this. Is there a "Bah-humbug" term for Easter? If there is I'm using it. Guess I'm just not feeling it. Haha. You guys probably think I'm crazy. Oh well, here they are!!

Hope you guys enjoyed these and I wish you a Happy Easter this weekend!!!!

Silver Zebra

Have I mentioned how much I love silver zebra print? It's so pretty!! Quick post today.

I was yearning for some baby pink nails (cuz it's one of my faves) but I wanted to dress them up a little. I started with a base of two coats of Essie "Fiji' and then I freehand zebra stripes with Orly "Dazzle" and added a little glam on the pinky with Essie "Set In Stones". Then topped the whole thing off with top coat.

Matte Glitter

Today I have a simple glitter manicure mattified! What is it about matte glitter that is so amazing? It was late and I was tired so I didn't want to take the time to do any nail art but I wanted something bright and fun. So here ya go!

I started with two coats of Julie G "Bikini", Julie G "9to5", and Loreal "Club Prive"

Then I added one coat of Essie "Set In Stones"

Then I added one coat of NYC "Matte Me Crazy" to make it matte. Glitter plus matte makes for beautiful things.

If you haven't tried a matte topcoat over your glitter manicures you should!! I promise you'll love it!

butter LONDON Haul (Swatches + Review)

So Ulta is running their 21 Days of Beauty and on Friday March 15th the deal of the day was butterLONDON nail polish for $9!! They are regularly $15. I couldn't pass this up! I had to get my hands on my first ever butterLONDON. Well I had to work that day so my completely sweet husband said "Make me a list and I'll go get them". He's the best!! The limit was supposed to be two but he managed to get me four and here they are!

All swatches are two coats of polish and one coat Seche Vite.

L-R: Come to Bed Red, Slapper, Trout Pout, and Rosie Lee

TROUT POUT:
Is a beautiful coral creme. Completely opaque in two coats and applied beautifully.

ROSIE LEE:
A gorgeous pink glitter!!! I've been pining for this polish for such a long time. I applied two coats of Rosie Lee over Trout Pout because well...I was lazy. lol.

SLAPPER:
Another one I've wanted for a long time. A beautiful bright teal crelly? It's not completely a jelly and not completely a creme. I looove it so much!

COME TO BED RED:
I think this is now my new all time favorite polish!! It is the most perfect red!! And the formula is a dream!! It seems like a jelly but so pigmented and opaque in two coats. And I have plenty of time to work. I don't rush through when painting my nails and I had no problems with this drying too quickly or getting thick. It is simply AMAZING!!

I am so happy I was able to get my hands on some of these! But as much as I love them I still can't bring myself to pay $15 for a nail polish. If it's a color I just have to have (like Fiver which is sold out) then I will, but otherwise I wouldn't buy them just to have them. But I love butterLONDON. Great formulas and beautiful packaging. This is a great brand!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Me being Irish this is one of my favorite holidays!! My maiden name is McGinnis, and my first name Colleen is Gaelic for girl! How cool is that?! So on with the nails. I did a somewhat simple mani. Apparently I suck at shamrocks, they just look like leaves. Haha. But I still really like how the whole look turned out.

On my index and pinky I'm wearing Sally Hansen "Mint Sorbet" topped with gold striping tape. On my middle and ring finger my base is Sally Hansen "White On" with the work Lucky on my middle finger with a shamrock and more shamrocks on my ring finger with the colors Wet N Wild "SaGreena the Teenage Witch", Sally Hansen "Green With Envy" and Orly "Glitz & Glamour". On my thumb I'm wearing Sally Hansen "Green With Envy" with the Orly color for the dots.

I then topped everything off including the striping tape with a coat of Sally Hansen "Insta-Dry" topcoat.

Hope you guys liked this! Can't wait for corned beef and cabbage! Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!

My Week In Instagram Pictures

SATURDAY:
Can it be spring already??? I did these in the hope that it would bring some warmer, sunnier weather!

And here's my thumb. I just love dots!

TUESDAY:
Leopard print!! I'm kind of obsessed!

And I have a pictorial for it!! Click here to see more!!
I had my leopard nails on until Friday night! I was trying out CND Sticky Base Coat and I wanted to see how long it would hold up. Only had a couple chips by day 4!!

Only two looks this week??? What is wrong with me?! Haha. I'll have more next week hopefully!

Leopard Print: Pictorial

Back with another pictorial!!! Today it's leopard print! I'm sure everyone knows how to do this but I was doing my nails this way and decided I would do a tutorial.

Colors: Sally Hansen "Petal Pusher", NYC "Brownstone", and Orly "Liquid Vinyl"

All you need is 3 colors and a dotting tool!

  1. Paint your nails 2 coats of your base color.
  2. With a large dotting tool make irregular shaped circles with your second color.
  3. With a smaller dotting tool dot black polish (or your polish of choice) in "C" shapes around the brown but not connecting.
  4. Where there is blank space make small irregular dots with the black. You don't want to do uniform dots because leopards don't have perfect circles.
  5. Add your topcoat and you're done!

And then I thought it would be cute to add some mint bows but... apparently I suck at them so I took them off and just re-did the leopard. LOL. Fail!

Hope you guys liked this!! It's pretty easy to do and always looks cute in any color!!

Polish Addict (Review & Swatches)

Today I'll be reviewing Razzberries by Polish Addict. I'm so glad she sent me this one!!! Razzberries is a milky pink crelly with small rose, gold, purple and teal circle glitters and large purple circle glitters. It also has tiny tiny glitters throughout. This applied like a dream although I did have to fish a little for the large purple circles with a toothpick but once I had used a bit of the polish it was easier to shake and grab with the brush. This bottle was completely full! And the larger purple circles lay nice on the nail without sticking up or snagging on things. In the pictures below I applied two coats of Razzberries over one coat of Sinful Colors "Cotton Candy" to make it more opaque. This is my first polish from Polish Addict and I really love it! I hope to get some more soon!!

My Week In Instagram Pictures

Hi Guys! I had a crazy busy week so I didn't really post much!! And what I did do was really simple because I had absolutely no energy or patience for nail art. Hopefully I will have some free time coming up! But here's what I did this week.

SUNDAY:
Finally got to wear this color! Love it so much!
Orly "Decades of Dysfunction"

THURSDAY:
I bought a few new polishes this week and I really wanted to try this one out!
NYC "Boat Basin"

And then I had to jazz it up just a little so I added some leopard print with Lime Crime "Pastelchio".
I also did a pictorial for leopard print with this but I decided I'm going to re-do it with different colors so it's easier to see. Coming soon!

FRIDAY:
Laura from Polish Addict sent me a polish to swatch/review and here it is!! Click here to see full review and swatches!
Polish Addict "Razzberries"

Sorry for the lack of posts/energy/inspiration this week. Hopefully I can get back on track! I have a lot of ideas floating around!
