Here's a new twist on an old favorite! The first time I did this, I used a light minty blue and Flip Flop Fantasy and it's been one of my most liked manis ever! The actual design was inspired by @madicures on Instagram, so I can't take credit for this design.
So anyways, today I've changed up the colors and holy jeebus this is bright! I love it! The colors are PolisHaus "Bewitched" and China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy" (the original).
It's been a long time since I've done a cakespiration! If you are a new reader, every once in awhile I like to do what I call a cakespiration. What it is, is I find or come across a photo of a cake and recreate as best I can, the same design on my nails or something very similar based on the cake. I love doing this because there are so many beautiful cakes out there and most of the time the designs aren't terribly complicated and they make perfect inspiration for nail art!
So today's look is kind of funky with different sized black dots and red roses. Please forgive my leaves. I know they're awful. It was the first time trying one stroke with acrylic paint and I failed miserably. So, just ignore that but I am in love with how my roses turned out! I also used acrylic paint for those. My white base is Nina Ultra Pro "French White" and the dots are Orly "Liquid Vinyl".
Here is the cake that inspired my look tonight. This cake was made by Graceful Cake Creations. Totally cute right?!
So what do you guys think of this as a design on the nails? I'm digging it!
I've never liked fimos before in the past. I always thought they were super cheesy, but I picked some up recently specifically in mind to do some sugar skull nail art when Halloween comes around again. Well, I thought, I'm not going to let these just sit around for months before I use them. So I hit the interwebs for some inspiration on what to do. Low and behold, I didn't really like anything that I found. Poorly done messy nails, big fat acrylics, and what seemed like no effort at all in some of the looks I found. So I said screw it, I'm just going to for it.
You all know I've been loving gradients lately so I decided on a green background for these to pose as a sort of garden. I used Sally Hansen "Mint Sorbet" and Polish My Life "Holly My Jolly" in the gradient, and then I just started placing fimo pieces as I went. And let me tell you, I am in LOOOOOOVE with this! I felt so whimsical with this on! It truly made me sad to take it off :(
Oh and I'm not changing my watermarks, I just had to get fancy with them for this one becuase the fimos blog my cuticle area.
So what are your guys' thoughts about fimos? Love em or hate em? If you hate them like I thought I did, what do you think about my design? Did it change your mind? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions!
I get so excited every time Polish My Life comes out with a new collection. Shaneka, owner and creator of Polish My Life makes thee most fantastic cremes on the market. Hands down, best....EVER! Including mainstream. Her glitters are just as amazing as well! She is why I judge indie polishes so harshly sometimes. From the very beginning, her very first collection they have been absolutely phenomenal! So it can be done ladies!
Anyways, moving on to why were here. Today I have her brand new Love Me, Love Me Not Valentines Day Collection to show you. Pre-orders start 1/17 and go through 1/22. The official collection release is 1/24. So let's get right on into it shall we?
YOU LOVE ME
A breathtaking bubble gum pink creme. It photographed a little bit lighter than it is but it is the most perfect pink ever! This is two creamy smooth coats plus topcoat. Seriously applied like butter, as do all her polishes.
NO LOVE LOST
A stunning purple creme. Photographed a little more blue than it is. Again buttery smooth application. This is only ONE COAT!!! Plus topcoat.
A combination of red, pink and white hearts, red and pink fine glitter all in a pearl base. If you think Polish My Life is only about cremes than you are sorely mistaken. Her glitter combos are just as fabulous! Great easy application, no fishing, great coverage of glitters. This is one coat over a white to red gradient that I did plus topcoat.
And here is one coat over "You Love Me" plus topcoat.
And in case you wanted to see the gradient by itself here it is. I used Nina Ultra Pro "French White", Polish My Life "You Love Me" and Nicole by OPI "Please Red-cycle".
Don't miss your chance to pick these up!!! Pre-orders start 1/17 - 1/22 at a discounted price for the trio set! All three for only $22 ($5 off)! After pre-sale the trio set will not be available. They will only be sold individually at full price. Official collection release is 1/24 at http://www.polishmylife.com/!

Glitz'd 23 is turning one!!! And today I have their Birthday Collection to show you!
BUBBLE GUM GIRL
A sheer bright pink and it glows in the dark! This is meant to be layered over white as it is quite sheer and it makes the glow stronger. Great formula but it does dry quickly and has a little bit a "chalky" texture because of the glow properties. Here is two coats over white plus topcoat.
PARTY IN STILETTOS
A beautiful glitter topper with a mix of pink and purple holographic glitters. Great coverage of glitter in only one coat! Over "Bubble Gum Girl" plus topcoat.
A silver foil polish with various blue, pink and black glitters. Here I've done two coats over Orly "Dazzle" but this can be opaque in about three coats.
A metallic bronze linear holographic polish. Applied really smooth with no streaking. Here is two coats plus topcoat. Photo taken in direct sunlight.
A midnight blue linear holographic polish. Again very smooth application and no streaking. Here is two coats plus topcoat. Photo taken in direct sunlight.
Woot woot!!!!! Today is my birthday!!!!! I can't believe I'm 27! I don't look 27 though. I've always looked much younger. I used to hate! Obviously you know, when you're 21 you don't want to look like you're 17 haha but now I'm ok with that! I always say my looks will come in handy when I'm 40! Hahahaa!
Well here are my birthday nails!!! These took FOREVER!!! And my other hand....lawd it's a mess lol. I had a completely different look in mind leading up to my birthday. Something more elegant and sophisticated I guess you can say. I though being 27 I would do something a little less, wow! But then it came time to do my nails and I was like "Eff that!!!" lol
I used so many colors in here I don't even know where to start. And a lot of it, especially the detail work was done with acrylic paints. I know they're nowhere near perfect but I just love them!!!!!!!!!!!
Although it is my birthday I am sick :( I developed a horrible cough last night and it's just gotten worse today and now I have a stuffy nose and sore throat. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh! It's my birthday, I can cry if I want to right?! lol
The other night my and my husband went to dinner and just before we were about to leave this girl sat down at the table next to us wearing a mint hoodie with gold sparkly wings on the back. I instantly wanted it on my nails lol.
These didn't turn out exactly how I wanted but I guess they're still cute. I used Wet N Wild "I Need A Refresh-mint" and Love, Angeline "Dancing With Fireflies" for the gold glitter.
Today I have an adorable Valentine's Day Collection from Love, Angeline to show you called Goodnight Sweetheart. This collection launches January 24!!!
PASS ME THE SWEET HEARTS
A super cute white crelly with various pastel glitters and hearts! Here is two coats over white. This applied amazing! And no fishing required at all.
OH SO KISSABLE
A stunning soft pink holo creme. Amazing smooth formula. Here is two coats plus topcoat.
A playful clear base glitter topper with various pink and purple glitters, silver stars and black hearts. I did have to work a little bit to get the hearts just because they are heavier and would slide off the brush because the formula is so smooth. This is two coats over "Oh So Kissable" plus topcoat.
A few days back @sloteazzy on Instagram asked me to so a #maniswap with her. This is where you choose a design of each others to recreate. I didn't have a bow so I improvised lol. I used Sinful Colors "24/7" and OPI "Don't Pretzel My Buttons". Go to my instagram to see the actual swap and both designs.
Hi guys! I'm already failing my promise of updating my blog more often. Oops! I just hate typing now with my long nails lol. Well anyways, today I have a few swatches for you from PolisHaus. These are all currently available on their website!
Two posts in one day?! You should be proud of me! Haha. Well I've mentioned a few times over the last few months that I will doing less swatches and more nail art. I know for awhile there my account was nothing but swatches and I'm sorry. It's just what happens when you have a larger account and indie makers want your services, and I hate to say no. But now I've changed that and I WILL have more nail art! So today I kept it simple and did an easy leopard print mani and dressed it up with a fancy cross out of studs.
Hi guys! I haven't blogged in ages! Ok, only like a month but that's a long time. I've been so busy over the last couple months I was just quickly painting my nails most the time without putting in any real effort. Definitely not anything worthy of you guys! I did manage to do a few designs here and there and I'll recap them for you here today! If you follow me on Instagram then you will have seen these but if not then here you go! I won't be including swatches in this post, only nail designs I've done.
Well I can't find the original design I did of this but imagine there is another section but in black over the glitter. This was inspired by @nailsofjessiek on IG. We did a #maniswap tag together so if you'd like to see the original look that inspired this and her designs, go to my Instagram @lusterlacquer. Here I used Sinful Colors "24/7", Icing "Glamorous" and the black I use in the original design is Orly "Liquid Vinyl". And now I realize I never posted this one, so I'll be doing that soon. lol
This is one of my favorites! I did this one obviously for Christmas. The base is Lime Crime "Parfait Day", the glitter is Serum No. 5 "Holly Dazed" and the tree I used acrylic paint! It was my first time ever using acrylic paint and seriously it's a game changer! So much eaiser to work with than polish. Thank you Shaneka for sending me some paints! Star stud is from Born Pretty Store.
Another classic during the winter/holidays to me is the Coca Cola polar bear commercials. When I received the acrylic paints one of the first designs I wanted to do was something inspired by Coca Cola. So this is what I came up with. I know the logo is not perfect. I started to run out of room so the Cola is a little crunched and my lines are little messy but I am still totally proud of this! My red base is Nicole by OPI "Please Red-cycle" and the rest is all acrylic paint.
This is so simple but I love it!!!!!!!! Base is Island Girl "Molokai Dream" and the studs are from Born Pretty Store. This pink is just perfection!
Happy New Year!!!!! Here is what I did for New Years Eve. I wanted to add to this but I wasn't liking how it was turning out so I just left it. I'll have to get a color list later because I can't remember everything I used. lol. PS.....by birthday is in 9 days (1/14)!! Be expecting some birthday manis, hopefully!
Alright guys, that wraps up the end of 2013! I'm sorry my blog took the back seat for awhile but I promise I will keep up with it now. Love you all!!! I hope you all have a prosperous 2014!
